A native of New Zealand and resident of Westbeth Artists Community, New York, Robert Wood developed a distinguished performing career with prominent New York dance makers David Gordon, Martha Clarke, Donald Byrd and Pearl Lang prior to joining Merce Cunningham and John Cage from 1987–1992. He subsequently created his own non-profit dance organization to promote international exchange with support from government agencies and organizations in the USA, Canada, France, Italy, Czech Republic, Palestinian Territories, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Robert’s choreographic projects provide a conduit for observer and artist alike to seek knowledge of who we are and what we may know through the art and discipline of movement.
