Michael Cole performed with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company from 1989 to 1998; a period in which Merce began making dance steps with the aid of computer software. Intrigued by the creative possibilities promised by the marriage of art and technology, Cole went back to school as a Jacob K. Javits fellow. He utilized those funds to earn an MFA in Dance and Technology from Arizona State University and a second MFA in Computer Arts from The Academy of Art College in San Francisco, CA. Michael has spent the past decade as a senior motion graphics artist for NBC News where he has gained a reputation for making the news dance. Fun fact, Michael can be seen in the Warner Bros. feature film, βThe Matrix: Reloaded,β choreographed by Cunningham alum, Charlie Moulton.
