Emma Diamond is from London and trained privately with ballerina Dame Merle Park before attending the Royal Ballet Upper School. She later danced the classics as a member of the Israel Ballet and as a ballerina at the Hannover State Theatre in Germany. After winning first prize at the International Choreographic Competition Hannover she moved to New York to pursue her passion for contemporary dance, touring with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company for 6 years. She left to direct her own group, Diamond Dance and to create a work for the Royal Ballet. Emma converted two derelict warehouses into dance studios in London where she ran a series of evening classes and studio performances. As well as choreographing, she composes, films, edits and animates. She is currently working on an immersive exhibition featuring micro-choreography entitled: SKIN: A journey across the Human Body.
